The Ministry of Tourism is organizing an International Tourism Mart at Guwahati in January. It will be attended by about 100 delegates from Australia, Bhutan, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Korea, Switzerland, Thailand, the UK and the US, among others. This will not only be the first ever international tourism event to be organised in the north-east, but also the first International Tourism Mart to focus on a specific part of India.
The event is designed to facilitate interactions among buyers, sellers, media, Government agencies and others. This will enable tourism service providers from the region to access international and domestic buyers and promote tourism in the region.
