A Chinese construction company has become the world's fastest builder after erecting a 57-storey skyscraper in 19 working days in China. The Broad Sustainable Building Co put up the glass-and-steel Mini Sky City in Changsha using a modular method, assembling three floors per day. The company worked on Mini Sky City in two phases separated by winter weather. The structure is safe and can withstand earthquakes.
Such modular approaches have been used for high-rise apartment blocks elsewhere too, including in Britain and the US. The Mini Sky City, with its 19 atriums, 800 apartments and office space for 4,000 people, will go on on sale in May.
