ISIS extremists have released a video showing the beheading of a second American journalist, Steven Sotloff, apart from warning Prez Obama that its knife will continue to kill US people as long as US airstrikes continued.
The footage depicting the brutal killing was posted two weeks after another video showing the killing of James Foley, another US journalist. Sotloff, a 31-year-old freelanced for Time and Foreign Policy magazines had vanished from Syria in 2013. Dressed in an orange jumpsuit against an arid Syrian landscape, Sotloff is shown being threatened in the video with death unless the US stopped its airstrikes on the Islamic State. In the video titled "A Second Message to America," Sotloff appears in a similar jumpsuit before he being beheaded by a fighter with the Islamic State, the group that has conquered wide territory across Syria and Iraq and declared itself a caliphate.
The Islamic State has terrorized rivals and civilians alike with widely publicized brutality as it tries to expand a state it has carved out on both sides of the border. In its rise over the past year, it has published graphic photos and gruesome videos of bombings, beheadings and mass killings.
