Two Jet Airways pilots have been grounded as the plane they were commanding dropped 5000 feet above Turkey after the pilot had gone on a 'controlled rest' or a nap. An inquiry has been ordered to find out whether the co-pilot, who claims she was busy on her iPad and did not notice the fall, had also dozed off.
The dangerous situation was brought under control after the air traffic control at Ankara alerted the commanders, who then went back to their assigned altitude. The two pilots have been grounded while a probe is on. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation is in a tizzy over the incident.
