The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the Defence Ministry have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a manned mission to the moon. The mission comes after ISRO successfully launched the Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) last month using its Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-XL). The Defence Ministryhas asked the Indian Air Force to identify the qualitative requirements for the crew. The Director General of Armed Forces Medical Services is to lay down out the requirements to identifying five most suitable men for the mission.
