Two bomb blasts in a Peshawar bazaar have killed at least 38 people. This is the third attack in the provincial capital in a week. Eight children and five women were among the dead and more than 100 people were injured in the blast in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.
The final death toll is expected to rise as many victims are critical. Several vehicles and shops caught fire, and human body parts were scattered at the site. The attacks occurred amid reports that the government plans to open peace talks with Islamist militants operating from the north-western region.
Just a week ago, two suicide bombers had blown themselves up outside a Christian church, killing more than 80 worshippers there.
