Mukesh Ambani is the 18th richest person globally, with a personal worth of $ 24.7 billion (Re. 1, 37,000 Cr. app.) in 2012, as per the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.Ambani, 55, CMD of Reliance Industries, also remains the world’s richest Indian for the sixth year and has improved his ranking and his wealth from $21 billion to $24.7 billion.
The Mexican telecom tycoon Carlos Slim remains the world’s richest person with a personal fortune of more than $70 billion. The world’s top 100 billionaires got richer in 2012, with their wealth rising by 15% to $1.81 trillion. Microsoft founder Bill Gates and the founder of fashion retailer Zara, Amancio Ortega, took the top three spots, with their wealth estimated just over and just under $60 billion, respectively.
