Yesterday was the first death anniversary of the evergreen romantic hero Dev Anand, who died of cardiac arrest last year in London. He was 88.
The yesteryear actress and his co-star Waheeda Rehman was tearful as she unveiled a life-like brass statue of the screen legend. The statue is a part of Walk of the Stars in Mumbai now. His son Suniel was also present on the occasion.
Dev Anand left an indelible mark on the minds of movie buffs with classics like 'Baazi', 'Paying Guest', ‘Hum Dono', Guide', 'Jewel Thief' and 'Hare Rama Hare Krishna'. One of the most popular actors of Bollywood, he also gave many new heroines to the tinsel world like Tina Munim and Zeenat Aman. He had started his career in the black-and-white era with his 1946 film 'Hum Ek Hain'. His last film 'Chargesheet' was released in 2011.
