Scientists have discovered a twin of our Earth, lying 200 light years (1 Light Year = Distance travelled by light in one year) away. The accompanying photo from the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics shows KOI-314c, the lightest planet  which has both its mass and physical size measured. Although the planet weighs the same as Earth, it is 60 % larger in diameter, meaning that it must be having a very thick, gaseous atmosphere.

They are called super-Earths, which are abundant outside our solar system. But the more experts learn about them, the stranger our own planet seems in comparison. Planets which are the size of Earth and up to four times larger are believed to make up about three-quarters of the planet candidates discovered by NASA's Kepler spacecraft.
