To further consolidate its position in the SUV segment, Tata Motors has come up with its sports utility vehicle Safari Storme. The safari also known as the Tata Merlin costs upwards of Rs. 9.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The top-end version, however, will set you back by Rs. 13.66 lakh.
The Storme is powered by a 2.2-litre DiCOR engine that produces 140 bhp of power at 4000 rpm and 320 Nm of maximum torque at 1700-2700 rpm.
Currently, Maruti Suzuki commands no. 1 rank among passenger vehicle makers in India, followed by Hyundai Motors. There is a see-saw battle between Tata Motors and Mahindra and Mahindra for the third position.
