Nokia’s smartphone Lumia 920 is to be on sale for $ 801 and the Lumia 820 at $640 in mid-November. Lumia 920, the company’s flagship smartphone, features 4.5-inch PureMotion HD+ display, wireless charging support, 2000 mAH battery, 8.7 MP rear camera, 1 GB RAM, 32 GB of internal storage, 1.2 MP front camera, and Micro-USB port.
On the other hand, Lumia 820 is a mid-range phone and will come with 1.5GHz Qualcomm S4 dual-core processor, 4.3-inch Clearblack display, 8GB of internal storage, 8MP rear camera, VGA front camera, NFC and Windows Phone 8 OS.
With the November release, Nokia aims to capture the holiday season sales, but given the fact that iPhone 5 and Note II are already on sale, it is likely to face a tough time.
Samsung is also out with its muc -awaited Galaxy Note II phablet in India. This is the first Samsung device working on with Android Jelly Bean. Like the first one, Note II is also a smartphone-tablet hybrid, which sports a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED HD display and is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM. It has a 3100mAh battery and has 16GB internal storage expandable up to 64 GB with a microSD card.
The Note II comes with the special S-Pen stylus for taking notes on the device. In terms of connectivity, it offers 4G, 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, NFC, USB 2.0 and Bluetooth 4.0. With extra features such as Air View, Popup Note and Quick Command, Note II is available in two colours - titanium grey and marble white. At Rs. 39,990, it is slightly more expensive than the original Galaxy Note.
