The use of cellphones and other such devices in flight mode has been allowed on all flights by the DGCA. The aviation safety watchdog has amended the rule which banned the use of portable electronic devices (PEDs) and has allowed their use during all phases of a flight in the flight mode.
Flyers can now switch on cellphones, tablets or laptops on the ‘flight mode’ to work, play video games, listen to music, watch videos or type out their e-mails. The e-mails would, however, be sent only once the plane lands at an airport.
