More than a dozen IPL players have charges against them in the sealed Justice Mudgal report on IPL corruption. The players belong to Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals and three other teams. The RR and CSK owners are already under the scanner in the scandal.
The confidential report also charges three IPL office bearers, based on the witnesses' testimonies. The report had indicted Srinivasan's son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan for betting and passing on information regarding the CSK which he actually owned. While India Cements later tried to distance itself from him, the panel held that Gurunath was a 'team official' as per the IPL code of conduct. Besides, the panel had raised questions over Srinivasan's apparent conflicts of interest as a team owner and BCCI President.
Perhaps the scariest aspect iof the report is the mention of alleged links between the players / administrators / politicians and terrorists and the underworld. The Supreme Court is due to hear case on April 16.
