A 17-year-old British boy has been convicted of stabbing his mother 94 times after he losing temper. Kieren Smith killed 42-year-old Leah Whittle at her home in Weymouth, Dorset this July.
A jury at the Winchester Crown Court found him guilty of murder but the sentencing was yet to happen. Smith inflicted knife wounds across his mother's head, back and front in the two bedroom flat which they shared. A blade wielded by Smith severed the woman's spinal cord, a post mortem of her bloodstained body revealed. He then fled the scene, climbing out of his bedroom window and down a drain pipe. The murder weapons have never been recovered.
The court was told by the prosecution that the mother-son relationship was often less than harmonious.
