Finally, there's some cheerful news for job aspirants from the government's Fiannace Ministry.
The Public Sector Banks will hire over 63,000 people, including officers and clerical staff, during the current fiscal year. By September-end, all government-owned banks had v84489 vacancies in all out of which, the banks plan to recruit 63,200 during this year. By March-end 2012, the total workforce of public sector banks was 8,01,509.
The State Bank of India alone plans to recruit 1,200 officers and nearly 20,000 clerks this year. The government, in consultation with banks and IBPS, has tried to simplify and rationalise the recruitment process with common eligibility criteria and interview for all banks and a one-time application fee.
