The benchmark BSE Sensex roared to a new all-time high of 21,196 on the back of a buying spree, amid optimism on the economic front. The earlier intra-day peak of 21,207 was set on January 10, 2008. Some major contributors in the Sensex are State Bank of India, M&M, Jindal Steel, Sterlite, Reliance Industries, Tata Motors and ICICI Bank.
Moving parallel, the NSE index Nifty crossed the 6,300 level after three years to reach 6,307.20. The Nifty had registered an all-time high of 6,357.10 in January 8, 2008.
