OBAMA APPOINTS MUMBAI ENGINEER TO KEY POSITION

Prez Barack Obama has appointed Romesh Wadhwani, an Indian-American founder of many IT companies, as a trustee of the John F. Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts. Mr Wadhwani, a BTech from IIT, Mumbai later did his MS and Ph.D. from Carnegie-Mellon University. Curremtly, he is the CEO of Symphony Technology Group.

 

Announcing his appointment, President Obama said, "These dedicated men and women bring a wealth of experience and talent to their new roles and I am proud to have them serve in this Administration." Set up in 1971 as a memorial to former President JF Kennedy, the centre is the busiest performing arts facility in the US and annually hosts about 2,000 performances for a two-million audience.
