The Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), severely criticised for stepping down from office after 49 days, has made a stunning comeback in the Delhi assembly elections by winning 67 of the total 70 seats. The victory has proved all pollsters and political pundits wrong who were projecting a maximum of 53 seats for the party in the most optimistic scenario. Its tsunami-like wave has crushed reduced the BJP and the Congress to dust with just 3 and zero seats respectively in the Assembly. The party chief Arvind Kejriwal won the New Delhi constituency seat by securing 57, 213 votes.
The AAP's incredible victory was so comprehensive and complete that 63 of the 70 candidates fielded by the Congress lost their security deposits while the BJP Chief Ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi also had to bite the dust with a crushing defeat.
