Narendrabhai Damodardas Modi has taken oath as the 15th Prime Minister of India. At the majestic Rashtrapati Bhavan, Prez Pranab Mukherjee administered him the oath of office and secrecy. Along with him, 45 Cabinet Ministers including Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj took the oath of office and secrecy.
The occasion was graced by outgoing PM Manmohan Singh apart from 8 heads of foreign states. Among those who became part of the historic ceremony were Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif, Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai, Sri Lanka President Mahindra Rajapaksa, Mauritius PM Navinchandra Ramgoolam, Nepal PM Sushil Koirala, PM Tshering Tobgay of Bhutan and Bangladesh Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury. Congress Prez Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, former presidents A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and Pratibha Patil were among the 4,000 people who witnessed the ceremony.
