Former Comptroller & Auditor-General of India (CAG) Vinod Rai's tell-all memoirs titled Not Just An Accountant contains enough gunpowder to light up political fireworks in the coming few days. The book released recently claims that ex-PM Manmohan Singh knew all along about the 2G and coal scams while they were happening but chose to remain silent, citing the compulsions of coalition dharma. Rai also asserts that many Congress MPs specifically requested him to exclude Dr. Manmohan Singh's name from the entire muck. Though Rai has calrified that Manmohan Singh was personally not involved in any of these, he certainly can be accused of looking the other way while the loot was on. Obviously, the charges have been countered by the Congress but it seems that the barrage of the charges of complicity and abetment against Manmohan Singh in the scam-ridden UPA history does not seem to be stopping.
Meanwhile, Daman Singh, ex-PM'S daughter has released her own "honest and affectionate" recollection of her father's UPA years titled Strictly Personal: Manmohan and Gursharan.
